Why is Gillette Clinical Antiperspirant and Deodorant more effective than others at stopping wetness?
Gillette Clinical delivers 34% better wetness protection than a prescription antiperspirant (6.25% AICI 3). It's prescription strength wetness protection, without the prescription.
How does Gillette Clinical protect against wetness and odor?
Gillette Clinical is designed for men who experience or worry about excessive underarm perspiration. Daily use will provide you with the protection you want and the confidence that goes with taking control of your perspiration and your life. Gillette Clinical features Triple Protection Technology that: Provides Prescription-strength wetness protection. Contains Odor-fighting microcapsules that absorb odor and release fresh scent throughout the day. Contains Skin-conditioning ingredients to help minimize irritation.
What are the varieties of Gillette Clinical, and what makes them different?
There are four varieties in all. Gillette Clinical is available in Sport, All Day Fresh and Odor Shield scents to keep you protected, and feeling fresh and confident the whole day through. For sensitive skin, Gillette Clinical Ultra Comfort is dermatologist-tested and helps to minimize irritation and it's virtually fragrance free.
Is Gillette Clinical for everyone?
Gillette Clinical is designed for heavy sweaters, but can provide confidence and wetness protection to anyone who experiences or worries about excessive underarm perspiration.
Should I use Gillette Clinical differently?
Gillette Clinical can be effective when used as a traditional antiperspirant, but for maximum wetness protection, follow these instructions carefully: Apply Gillette Clinical at bedtime to minimize excess night time perspiration. An additional morning application is not necessary, as you'll be protected throughout the day, even if you bathe or shower after application. If you forget to apply at night, morning application will still provide strong protection. Apply the amount of Gillette Clinical that's right for you. A light layer is recommended, and three clicks per arm is the average. You can apply as much as you feel is necessary. Most men find the night time application sufficient to reduce excessive wetness for the following day. However, if you feel you need more protection, just reapply Gillette Clinical in the morning as well.
Why do we perspire?
Sweating is your body's way of releasing excess heat and cooling itself. And, while sweating is natural under any condition, it can be intensified for any number of reasons, including warm weather, exercise and stress.
How much perspiration is too much?
Excessive perspiration isn't yet fully understood. Only you can decide if your sweating is excessive and therefore a cause of embarrassment. Gillette Clinical is designed with the excellent protection you want to help control your perspiration.
What is antiperspirant?
Antiperspirants reduce the flow of sweat from sweat glands to reduce wetness. In addition, because perspiration stimulates odor-causing bacteria, antiperspirants also help reduce body odor, with scented antiperspirants fighting odor even more.
How do antiperspirants work?
Antiperspirants use sweat against itself. Once applied, the antiperspirant is dissolved by sweat, and the dissolved particles form superficial plugs just below the skin's surface. These plugs reduce the release of more perspiration. Generally, the plugs stay in place for about 24 hours and wash away over time.
Why should I use Gillette Clinical at bedtime?
At night, your body's temperature and sweat rate slow. By applying Gillette Clinical as this is happening, very little, if any, antiperspirant is washed away by sweat, and you ensure the plugs created by Gillette Clinical work at their optimum. Applied at night, Gillette Clinical is so effective, there's no need to reapply in the morning, although you may, if you feel you need added protection.
Is Gillette Clinical different from other prescription-strength antiperspirants?
Yes. The active ingredient in many prescription-strength antiperspirants is aluminum chloride. While generally effective at controlling perspiration, aluminum chloride is also more acidic than the active ingredient in Gillette Clinical. That's why many who use antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride complain of skin irritation under the arm. In some cases, the reaction is so severe that using aluminum chloride-based antiperspirants must be discontinued. Another unfortunate side effect of aluminum chloride is that it can cause staining or discolor clothing. Gillette Clinical uses no aluminum chloride. The Triple Protection Technology actually contains skin-conditioning ingredients to help soothe skin and help minimize irritation.
How does Gillette Clinical provide 34% better wetness protection than a prescription product (6.25% AICI 3)?
Gillette Clinical was tested in a 10-day clinical study against a currently marketed prescription antiperspirant. Subjects had the product applied to their underarms every day for nine days. Both products were applied at bedtime as current marketed prescription products instruct to ‘apply at night'. In the study, Gillette Clinical performed significantly better in providing wetness protection. Overall, the study resulted in Gillette Clinical providing 34% better wetness protection than a prescription product (6.25% AICI 3).
