Shaving pioneer King Camp Gillette invented the safety razor in 1901, which used disposable blades, and was a precursor to the disposable razor (where the entire device could be thrown away when dull, as opposed to just the blades). In 1976, Gillette introduced the first twin blade disposable razor. Today, Gillette's top-of-line male disposable is the MACH3 Disposable, featuring patent DLC blades and an ergonomically-designed handle.
