• 7 TIPS FOR THE BEST SHAVE EVER

  1. 1. SOAK

     Wash your face and neck with warm water and soap to help remove dirt, natural oils and perspiration that inhibit water penetration. Applying warm water causes facial hair to expand, making it softer and easier to cut.

  2. 2. PREPARE

     Apply plenty of shave gel. Although water is essential for softening, the water absorbed by hair quickly evaporates, leaving hair in its original state. Shave gel provides a protective layer that prevents the evaporation of water and keeps hair soft. In addition, using a shave gel such as Fusion HydraGel reduces friction between blade and skin, improving razor glide for a smoother shave.

  3. 3. RELAX

     Use light, gentle strokes. Your razor should do the work, not you. Your hair grows in different directions, so light, gentle strokes are the best way to get the closest, most comfortable shave. For ultimate comfort, use Gillette Fusion or Gillette Fusion Power and rinse the razor frequently to prevent buildup on the blade edges and cartridge.

  4. 4. SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST

     The toughest hairs grow on the chin and around the lips. Shave these areas last, as more time soaking in shave gel will soften them further.

  5. 5. TRIM

     Gillette Fusion and Gillette Fusion Power are equipped with a special Precision Trimmer Blade on the back of the razor. Use it after shaving the large areas of your face to trim sideburns, under the nose, and to shape facial hair. It will provide clean lines and a tidy finish to your shave.

  6. 6. RINSE AND PROTECT

  2. • Hydrate skin for 3 minutes in warm water-but no longer, as this causes the skin to wrinkle and can increase irritation.
       
     • Use Gillette Fusion or Fusion Power. The 5 Blade Shaving Surface Technology has 5 blades spaced closer together to reduce pressure with less irritation, even on sensitive skin.

     • If you're planning to spend the day at the beach or pool, it's a good idea to shave early in the morning or even the night before; salt water, sand, and chlorine can irritate freshly shaven skin.
       
     • Before you have fun in the sun, apply a non-oily, sweat-proof suntan lotion to help keep skin moisturized and to protect it from harmful ultraviolet radiation.
       
     • Sunburn can present a challenge when it is time to shave. To avoid irritation, it's best not to shave immediately after being in the sun.
       
     • Want to highlight your tan? Shaving regularly can enhance your tan because you are removing the layer of dead cells that causes skin to appear white and flaky.
       

  3. COLD WEATHER SKIN CARE
